MON-THU, TIMES VARY, BBC1 SOAP

Fiona Dolman is delighted to be back in the fictional West Midlands town of Letherbridge for a brand-new guest role as BBC1’s daytime soap Doctors returns to our screens this week following its annual summer break. Here, in an exclusive chat, Midsomer Murders star Fiona, 54, tells TV Times all about her latest appointment at The Mill Health Centre…

In Wednesday’s episode, What the Eyes Don’t See, you play a character called Colleen Peabold. What can you reveal about her?

Colleen is a lady in deep grief from the unexpected death of her husband. The story centres around the difficult relationship with her daughter, Heather [played by Hidden’s Lowri Izzard], and their housekeeper, Marta Kaminski [Malgorzata Klara]. Without spoiling it, all is not as it seems, and things quickly go from bad to worse for Colleen!

Why did this part appeal to you?

Playing someone in the depths of grief and where that takes them was tremendously challenging. Filming days on Doctors are busy, so you have to be prepared and absolutely ready to go when they say, ‘Action.’
