SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH showcases London's wildlife secrets

A vast, noisy city might not spring to mind as a promising location for a wildlife documentary. However, as BBC1's one-off special Wild London reveals, a surprising number of species are thriving on the streets of our capital.

Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, the programme features remarkable footage of creatures whose habitat is the concrete jungle, from of a herd of fallow deer dodging traffic and a fox finding an ingenious place to stash food to pigeons riding the Tube and peregrine falcons nesting happily on skyscrapers.

'A sprawling megacity may seem no home for a nature lover like me,' says London resident David, 99. 'But my city is full of unexpected natural wonders!'
