David and Daisy are mown down... will either of them survive?

Car-crash HORROR!

It's already proving to be an annus horribilis for David Platt, and we're only two months into 2025. Owing thousands to gangster Harvey Gaskell, the crimper has resorted to a life of crime - the proceeds of which are barely scratching the surface of the debt - while son Max's efforts to solve the problem have led to the lad torching his own gaff and being nicked for arson.

As Harvey loses his patience and David fears there's no way out, the despondent dad winds up the victim of a brutal hit-andrun, which pregnant Daisy is also caught up in. But is this a revenge attack on Harvey's part, or is there more to the situation than meets the eye?

The week kicks off with Max's sentencing, which is a dark day for David and Shona - now that he's 18, the lad is old enough to go to an adult prison, and the pair are well aware that incarcerated Harvey could make his life hell... that's if he allows Max to have a life.

Returning to the cobbles from court, things then get a whole lot worse for David. As he's locking up the salon, dodgy Andy arrives, brandishing a knife, and explains that Harvey wants him dead for his life insurance. What a charmer.

Andy eventually loses his bottle, but David is a mess. And while Shona insists they'll find a way to sort things, he clearly doesn't share her optimism.

image'David always cracks under pressure,' says Jack P. Shepherd, who plays him.

'It looks like he's got it all together, but then he'll do something extreme.'
