The Supervet: Safari Special Thursday, 9pm, C4

TV vet Noel Fitzpatrick is a world away from his normal vet practice in Surrey in C4’s The Supervet: Safari Special.

Fitzpatrick, who has spent the last 15 years pioneering bionic limbs for cats and dogs, travels to South Africa to use his specialist skills to help transform the lives of endangered wild animals.

They include three-year-old rhino Kolisi, who was only a few months old when a pack of hyenas attacked him and his mother. Part of his foot had to be removed and now local prosthetist Werner Smit is hoping to get Fitzpatrick’s input into creating a prosthetic foot strong enough to support Kolisi’s weight.
