AT HOME, THE NEW YORK CITY BALLET PRINCIPALS ARE JUST AS IN SYNC AS WHEN THEY FELL IN LOVE WHILE DANCING

On a recent Sunday morning, Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia are in the living room of their warm, airy Upper West Side apartment reminiscing about their love story, which started just a few blocks away.

The pair met at Lincoln Center, home of the New York City Ballet, where they're now both principal dancers. But some eight years ago, Mejia was just an apprentice, while Peck was already an established performer. She saw him in class and thought, "He's gonna really be something." Still, she couldn’t resist giving him a note on his form. "And I didn’t even say [first], 'I’m Tiler.' He was probably thinking, 'Who is this person?'" Peck jokes. Mejia quickly quips back, “No, I knew who you were.”
