I Skipped the Backstreet Boys Concert at the Sphere, and I'm Tortured by Regret

Earlier this summer my friend asked me if I wanted to join 10 other moms to see the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere in Las Vegas. I declined. Like any self-respecting millennial, I’ll get down to “I Want It That Way,” but fly six hours to roast by a pool next to twentysomethings during the day then watch five men in their forties and fifties dance at night? As Parker Posey’s Victoria Ratliff says in The White Lotus, “I just don’t think at this age I’m meant to live an uncomfortable life.”
