Billy Joel Says He's 'Not Dying' as New Doc Reveals Shocking Secrets About His First Marriage

When Howard Stern grabbed dinner with longtime friend Billy Joel in late May, the Grammy-winning musician told the radio host that despite his diagnosis with a rare brain condition, all is well. “He’s doing fine. He does have issues, but he said, ‘You can tell people I’m not dying,’” Stern relayed in the June 3 episode of his SiriusXM show.
"We are hopeful for his recovery," Joel's wife, Alexis, said in a statement on May 26 about the music legend (onstage in New York City last July).
The news from Stern brought relief for fans of Joel, 76, who announced in May that he’s recovering from normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), which forced him to cancel all upcoming concerts. The “Piano Man” singer once again made headlines on June 4 when he missed the Tribeca Festival premiere of the new documentary
