When Apple unveiled Liquid Glass, a complete software redesign for all its hero products, at WWDC 2025 in June, it's fair to say I was pretty underwhelmed.

I was hopeful that the next generation of Apple software would lean heavily on Apple Intelligence and bring the AI features, like an improved Siri, we'd all been waiting for. Instead, Apple sort of overlooked Apple Intelligence and opted to focus on the new interface "material" coming to iPhones with iOS 26, iPads with iPadOS 26, and Macs with macOS 26.
