Loony Lion Wins Hearts

One bright morning, Loony Lion was strolling through his garden.
His golden mane fluttered in the wind, and his face looked unusually serious.
Monu Monkey, who was sitting on a nearby branch, had been watching him for quite some time. He thought to himself, Hmm ... Loony seems deep in thought. He must be under some serious stress.
After a while, Monu called out, “Hey Loony, what’s the matter? Why do you look so worried?”
Loony stopped, took a deep breath, and said, “Monu, I’ve been invited as the chief guest for Children’s Day at Junglewood Primary School.”
Monu jumped with joy. “Wow! That’s amazing! I’ll come with you!”
Loony made a serious face and said, “It sounds like good news, but do you remember last time? All the children ran away in fear before the program even began. Why is everyone so afraid of me?”
Monu laughed and said, “Then you should get a haircut! Trim your mane a little shorter. Then, the kids won’t be scared.”
Loony smiled. “Hey, Monu! If someone is afraid of me, why should I change who I “Am? This mane is my pride.”
Monu scratched his head. “Hmm ... then we'll have to think of another way.”
Loony sighed softly. “I love children, but everyone thinks I’m scary.”
Monu’s eyes lit up. “I have a great idea! When you go to school, hold colourful balloons in one hand and chocolates in the other. Kids will love that!”
Loony smiled widely. “Wow, Monu! That’s a wonderful idea!”
Junglewood Primary School was bustling with excitement that morning. The hall was decorated beautifully, and a large chair had been placed on the stage for the chief guest.
Ringo Rabbit was hopping around nervously.
Mini Squirrel said, “Hey, Ringo! Loony Lion is coming today!”
Chili Cat teased, “Yes! And as soon as he arrives, you'll be the first one to faint!”
Ringo gulped. “I’m already sweating. If I go near him, I’ll faint for sure!”

The Park Came Alive
The Koi fish living in Sangam Pond of Munia Park had lately become very sad. No one came near their pond anymore, while earlier, the place used to be full of morning walkers. In the evenings, women and children would gather there. The park always remained lively with people’s chatter and laughter.

GRAVE MISTAKES
“Here’s your new school,” Dad said as he pulled over at the gate of Silver Pines School. Courtesy of his dad’s frequent job transfers, Omi is always the new student. This was his fourth school in the last eight years. Standing at the gates of his new school, clutching his bag, he tried not to look nervous. His family had just moved to the town a week ago, and everything still smelled new—new books, new uniform, new trouble.
