Fun Till Dusshera

Shersingh was the president of the Ramlila Committee of Champakvan.

To organise the Ramlila on Dusshera, he called a meeting of his committee. Baddy fox, Vivi wolf, Jiffy giraffe, Sally squirrel, Blacky bear, Jumbo elephant, Damru donkey and other animals were present.

With everyone’s agreement, Shersingh assigned roles for the Ramlila.

Baddy and Vivi were very happy. They had got their favourite roles. Baddy was to play Hanuman, while Vivi got the role of Meghnad, the oldest son of Ravan and crown prince of Lanka.

Blacky and Damru were given the task of pulling the curtain on the stage. They had no problem with it. They were glad that at least they had the chance to sit on the stage.

But Baddy and Vivi could not stop being mischievous. They kept teasing Blacky and Damru. They mocked them, saying, “Hey Blacky and Damru, you haven’t pulled the curtain rope yet. Pull it, pull it, quickly pull it.”

Then they laughed loudly, “Ha... Ha... Hee... Hee...” making fun of them.

When their teasing went too far, Blacky and Damru complained to Shersingh. He explained to them, “Blacky and Damru, you both are very sensible. You do your work honestly and with effort.”

Blacky and Damru understood what Shersingh meant. They stopped paying attention to Baddy and Vivi’s behaviour.

After four to five days of the Ramlila, Baddy and Vivi thought of a new mischief.

“Hey Vivi, so many stalls with delicious sweets and spicy snacks are already set up before Dusshera,” said Baddy.

“Yes, Baddy, look at those sweet rasgullas, cold rasmalai, spicy chaat and hot pakoras,” said Vivi.
