ON WORKING WITH HIS BROTHER MARK: WE'RE STILL COMPETITIVE

The musician, actor and host dishes on going head-to-head with his A-list sibling

Teaming up on the family’s successful restaurant chain, Wahlburgers, has brought Donnie Wahlberg closer to his little brother. “We work well together,” he says of Mark, 51. But when it comes to play? “We’re competitive over things we competed in as kids,” the Blue Bloods actor, 53, admits. “Get us on a golf course or a basketball court or playing UNO, and we’d probably want to fight each other!” Here, the New Kids on the Block singer, who’s been wed to Jenny McCarthy for nine years, talks to In Touch’s Fortune Benatar about his superstar sibling, practicing gratitude, and why he’ll always defend the Blockheads.

Tell us more about working with Mark. 

DW: It’s a lot of fun. Our brother Paul is also dedicated and committed. I love that Wahlburgers has brought us all together.

Do you ever compete over gigs?

DW: I don’t think he wants to get back into music — Marky Mark is not going to be competing with the New Kids! And as actors, we’re kind of in different realms.
