While celebrating daughter Princess Lilibet's 4th birthday on June 4, the Duchess of Sussex shared a video of her and Prince Harry twerking around their hospital room to Starrkeisha's 'Baby Mama' while trying to induce labour.

However, the lighthearted clip quickly led to controversy when it stirred up social media conspiracists who alleged Meghan faked her pregnancy.

In an essay for Newsweek, Christopher Bouzy, a friend of the duchess who appeared in 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, spoke out against the “online trolls and conspiracy theorists” who shared the unfounded allegations that the former actress faked her pregnancies by wearing a prosthetic belly while secretly employing the services of a surrogate.

“Imagine being nine months pregnant, your body aching, preparing to bring life into the world, and thousands of strangers are dissecting your every photo to ‘prove’ your baby isn’t real,” Bouzy wrote.

“It’s psychological torture designed to break someone’s spirit. And the worst part? These aren’t random acts of cruelty. They’re coordinated, monetised and amplified by people who profit from Meghan’s pain.”
