Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber's daughter, Kai Schreiber, has long known who she aspired to be. “I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman like Marilyn [Monroe],” the 16-year-old recently told Interview magazine, adding that her struggles with “gender identity from a young age” were the catalyst for her wanting to become a model.

The candid chat and photo shoot with the publication comes shortly after her famous parents publicly supported their transgender child. In fact, Kai said her Aussie actress mother, 56, was always there, camera in hand, to document the up-and-coming star’s journeys - both her supermodel ambitions and her exploration of personal identity.

“I want to be a supermodel. Period,” she told the publication, after walking for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week in March. “I’ve been practising my walks in the kitchen for years; my mum can show you all the videos I forced her to film.”

When Kai made that trip down the design house’s runway, it was a special moment for both mother and daughter. “Continuing to kill it! Proud of you!” Watts shared on Instagram of her daughter.
