PIA MIRANDA:'I FEEL BLESSED TO STILL BE WORKING'

THE AUSSIE ACTRESS REFLECTS ON HER EVER-CHANGING CAREER AND KEEPING UP CHERISHED FAMILY TRADITIONS
When WHO catches up with Pia Miranda on a weekday afternoon, the much-loved Aussie actress is at home in Melbourne, but there’s no relaxing going on – she’s busy promoting her two current projects. First up is a more personal one for Miranda, who is the first guest on Memory Bites with Matt Moran, a cooking show that is pure heart, taking viewers – and the guest – on a trip into the past through food.
Miranda’s other project is coming-of- age Stan series Invisible Boys, in which she plays an Italian mother who happens to be overbearing, bigoted and casually racist – nothing like Miranda.
When it comes to Memory Bites, the show was a way for foodie Miranda to honour her beloved nonna Angelina.
“I love being cooked for. You can ask me to come to a beautiful house and get cooked for by Matt Moran – I’m not going to say no! But I also love the experience of just being reflective,” Miranda says. “I love to take a walk down memory lane when it comes to my nonna because I feel like she would be so thrilled to be on TV and talked about. Hopefully, somewhere in the sky she knows. It’s just a really nice way to pay homage to someone who meant so much.” While Moran perfectly recreated things like Nonna’s spicchitedda, a cinnamon Christmas biscuit which Miranda helped make as a child, Miranda and her sister, Nicole, are the ones carrying on their nonna’s legacy.
