EVERLASTING CANDLES ARE A NEW TAKE ON AN OLD FAVOURITE

It was meant to be Jesse and Tamara Furgason's year away from work. In 2019, Tamara had just finished a PhD in public health and Jesse had stepped away from his job in sales and marketing so they could move from Canberra to Canada to spend time with his ageing parents.

But the time 'off' turned very much into time on when a product they'd created for themselves caught the eye of new friends.

"We've always loved hosting and used candles as a centrepiece, but we'd modernised the old wax candle and created something different," Tamara tells WHO.

Using an odourless mineral oil instead of wax, their "everlasting candle" included steel rods in a glass vase.
