HOW THE BRIDGET JONES: MAD ABOUT THE BOY STAR FOUND SUDDEN FAME - AND FELL IN LOVE

Upon graduating from ArtsEd School of Acting in Chiswick in 2019, Leo Woodall had scraped together a few small roles - appearing in one episode of UK drama Holby City and two episodes of TV series Vampire Academy - when he got his big break, playing cocky Essex lad Jack on the Sicily-set second season of The White Lotus.

"It shouldn't really have happened for me at that point," Woodall told The Guardian of being cast as the West Ham fan with a Cowabunga neck tattoo and a secret.

image"White Lotus is a star-studded show, and I was not a star ... I was lucky that [creator] Mike White doesn't give a f--k about stardom. I did a tape, I did it well, he liked it."

Before long, Woodall would be a star in his own right. "It's terrifying in a lot of ways. Because it was a relatively quick turnaround," he said in an interview with Radio Times. "Suddenly I was on these big sets and then doing photoshoots and events and interviews. The filming, I'm getting more comfortable with and it's becoming my safe haven."
