Although it had been a few years since Catherine Zeta-Jones first poured herself into a slinky black dress to film her role as Morticia Addams in Season 1 of The Addams Family spin-off series Wednesday - which wrapped filming in Romania in early 2022 before premiering in November that year - it didn't take her long to get into character for Season 2.

Step one? Nailing her character's velvety line delivery. “It’s a little breathy and quite curt,” Zeta-Jones said during an August 6 appearance on Good Morning America.

“That was just one of the many elements that I was able to relish playing Morticia Addams, because, when you think all those decades ago, she emerged from a cartoon, really then now we get eight hours of television directed by Tim Burton, where we strip away the layers and you get to know more of Morticia, but staying true and making it real.”

Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as the family’s macabre daughter navigating high-school life at Nevermore Academy, holds the record for Netflix’s most popular English language show of all time, spending 20 weeks on the Global Top 10.
