Amy Schumer has been contending with criticism about her appearance ever since she ventured into stand-up comedy in the early 2000s. "It hurts to have a lot of hate thrown at you from the internet, it doesn't feel good," she admitted to Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper on the podcast's January 22 episode. "I was definitely coming up in comedy when it was the height of people on the internet ... giving me feedback."

Somehow, she added, the taunts never truly rocked her inner confidence. "I don't know, I have always felt hot," she continued. "You have moments when you look in the mirror and you're like, 'I'm Shrek,' but then it's like, 'I have a little secret, I'm secretly hot! And I've always had that."
