A GOLDEN retriever named Beacon was the secret to the women's gymnastics team's amazing success at the Paris Olympics!

Although he did not attend the Games logistical issues derailed his "bone" voyage the four-year-old canine from California was with the team in spirit for every flip, handspring and vault of the competition.

And at the Olympic trials in June, he helped soothe gymnasts' nerves before and after routines, providing emotional support when things got ruff.

"Beacon is not the only dog" in USA Gymnastics' pet therapy program, says the organization's Jill Geer.
