Burned-out and on the verge of making bad choices, Sandra Bullock disappears from Hollywood

SANDRA GOES M.I.A.

Earlier this year, Sandra Bullock hinted that some big changafoot. Instead of working on more film sets, she said, she wanted instead to be "in the place that makes me happiest" - at home with her kids, Louis, 12, and Laila, 10. A few months later, she revealed what made her realize she needed to hit pause on her 35-year career. "I'm so burnt out," Sandra confessed. "I'm so tired, and I'm so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions and I know it." As for how long a break might last, she added, "I really don't know."

So far, it's been five months that Sandy's been M.I.A. Since hitting the talk show circuit and the red carpet to celebrate the release of her action flick The Lost City in March, she's been in hiding, even skipping all the worldwide promotional events for her most recent movie, Bullet Train, co-starring Brad Pitt. "She is telling people that she really just needed a break. Sandra's been struggling as a mom, juggling too much and was definitely at a crossroads," explains an insider. "That's why she disappeared."
