Courteney Cox is taking stock of life these days - and she likes what she sees.
It would be hard for the star not to contemplate her journey in the face of so many recent milestones, including the 40th anniversary of her showbiz debut (Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" video); 20 years since the finale of Friends; and a highly noteworthy birthday Courteney turned 60 on June 15.
"The place I am in right now is the happiest I've ever been," she has told Variety. "There's a lot of things that are not great about getting older, but there's a lot of great things."
For Courteney, who's as busy as ever not only as an actress (she appeared in her sixth Scream film last year) but also as a producer and director - these "great things" include 20-year-old Coco, the daughter she shares with ex-husband (and still close friend) David Arquette, 52, as well as the other love of her life, Johnny McDaid, 47. She and the Snow Patrol musician have been together since 2013 and came back stronger than ever after a brief breakup. ("He's an incredible human being," she says.)
Here, the star- and founder of Homecourt, a new brand of home-care products that would make her clean-freak Friends alter ego, Monica Geller, proud opens up about her life today, echoing words she's told the Sunday Times: "There's no question that I am more grounded. I've learned so much [over the years] - what to enjoy, what to try to do more of and what to let go of." Courteney, with your big birthday in mind, how do you feel about aging? I'm fine with it. I mean, of course there are things about it I don't like, but I'm happy. I love my life, and I love that I'm still working after all this time and getting to do stuff I truly love. I'm feeling very grateful.
You look amazing! Do you have a secret? I don't do anything special. I play tennis and swim, and I walk a lot. That's about it!
