Canada's Seth Rogen leads a night of surprises and triumphs on TV's biggest stage
-
“I’m embarrassed how happy this makes me.
” That was Seth Rogen’s admission at the end of the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, by which time he'd racked up 13 trophies for The Studio. “This is really just so lovely,” said the B.C.-born funnyman, 43, who began the night by claiming, “I’ve never won anything in my life!”
Scoring the most wins ever for a comedy in a single season, the satirical show - which counts Canadian Seth as a writer, producer, director and star - unexpectedly dominated America’s celebration of television excellence, as did British drama series Adolescence, which won eight times and made the audience fall in love with its star, 15-year-old Owen Cooper - the youngest male actor to take home an Emmy.
