BONDING OVER THEIR LOVE OF DANCE NEVE CAMPBELL AND KAREN KAIN THE CANADIAN STARS COME TOGETHER TO TALK CATS, KIDS AND 'HARD-CORE' BALLET

Hollywood actress Neve Campbell and dance legend Karen Kain have a lot in common.

Both are Canadian, spent their formative years at the National Ballet School and are pet people! "I have a cat," says Karen. Adds Neve excitedly, "I have two!"

The Scream star - who lives in Los Angeles with her partner, actor JJ Feild, 45, and their children, Caspian, 11, and Raynor, 5 - and the former prima ballerina (who is married to theatre impresario Ross Petty, 77) have come together in Karen's hometown for the Toronto International Film Festival première of their documentary, Swan Song. Produced by Neve, it takes viewers behind the scenes of Karen's 2022 production of Swan Lake - her final show as the National Ballet of Canada's artistic director.

Collaborating with Karen, 72, has been a lifelong dream for Guelph, Ont.-born Neve, who just turned 50. She can't stop smiling as she spends precious time with her childhood idol. "I still remember the first time I met her when I was little," she tells us. "She had been visiting the [ballet] school, and I remember walking behind her with my bun and my uniform. I kept following her but trying to stay, like, 20 feet behind. At some point, she stopped and turned around and said, 'Do you want to talk to me?' She was very sweet."
