Queer Eye's Canadian food star shares his favourite festive offerings

For more than seven years, Queer Eye's Antoni Porowski has shown audiences that food is more than simple sustenance – it's a love language.

The Montreal native, 41, recently partnered with Nestlé Carnation to spread this message and share its Red Carpet Recipe Collection (and cooking accessories) in hopes of helping folks create a meal that makes people feel special.

Traditions and memories are often tied to food. “We all have those dishes during special occasions and holidays where everyone comes together, whether it’s your logical or biological family,” says Antoni. “And there’s always the stew, the pie, the roast, the sauce. Whatever it is, that is the star of your family.”

Here, as Queer Eye heads into its final season, the fan favourite shares his family traditions, advice for rookie chefs and what he thought about his costar Tan France joining the Duchess of Sussex on camera!

FAMILY FARE

I was raised in a very Polish household and we had the classic [meal] on the 24th, which is similar in terms of concept to what Italians do, where it's a whole bunch of seafood. That's typically how we went about it in my house. There were no less than – I'm not even kidding – five varieties of pickled herring.
