VICTORIA GETS REAL
HELLO! UK

Speaking more candidly than ever before, Victoria Beckham reveals how she overcame dark times after the Spice Girls split and reflects on the insecurities created by fame
Poised and elegant as she took in the atmosphere ahead of one of the biggest moments of her life, Victoria Beckham exuded calm confidence.
Supported by her adoring husband, David, and their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper – along with Cruz's girlfriend, Jackie Apostel – at the world premiere of the long-awaited Netflix documentary that bears her name, she was the epitome of a woman at the top of her game.
It was a great week for the former Spice Girl: five days earlier, the 51-year-old had successfully brought her biannual Paris Fashion Week show to a close. In a fitted grey trouser suit from her own label, she was the perfect example of a modern working mother, having defied her critics to morph from a pop star into a bona fide fashion designer.
Yet, as she reveals in her new documentary, Victoria has battled huge insecurities behind the scenes. Opening up to the cameras, she talks for the first time about how she suffered from an eating disorder at the height of her fame and admits that she once feared her fashion business would fail due to heavy debts.
She also discusses how the bullying of an unkind media made her self-conscious in ways that still affect her today, and pays tribute to David, her husband of 26 years, and her parents, Jackie and Tony Adams, for having always been her biggest supporters.
SHOWING HER TRUE SELF
“This documentary was a brilliant move for Victoria,” the PR and brand expert Nick Ede tells HELLO!. “Viewers will see her in a totally different light, as she is open and honest like never before.
“By showing all her vulnerabilities, we can get a glimpse of the woman behind the brand. She is funny, savvy, kind, an amazing mother and wife and an ambitious businesswoman. This is Victoria at her most raw and her fans will love every second. It’s a brilliant move from her.”
