Opening up about displaying an exhibition of modern art, Victoria Beckham tells of her inspirations and why David and beautiful wine” make her happy

As a fashion designer, Victoria Beckham says she has always been inspired by art.

And she and former footballer husband David have amassed quite the collection of contemporary works.

So it feels a natural fit for the former Spice Girl to team up with Sotheby's to stage a temporary exhibition of modern pieces lent by the auction house in her Dover Street store.

The designer selected 11 works, by Yoshitomo Nara, George Condo, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joan Mitchell, Gerhard Richter, Yves Klein and Francis Bacon, which were displayed for four days before going under the hammer in London and New York.

"I'm so excited to partner with @Sothebys again on an incredible curation of contemporary art at my flagship London store," Victoria, 50, wrote on social media.
