Celebrating the holidays is a tad different when you're one of the most famous women in the world. Gigantic trees, fully decorated tour buses and forests of twinkling lights are all de rigueur when it comes to A-list Christmas decorations.

From self-confessed diva Mariah Carey to actress and singer Jennifer Lopez and the Kardashian clan, it seems that lavish displays of Yuletide excess are the way to go, with all of these stars happily showing off glitter, glitz and glamour to their millions of fans on social media. Here, we take a look at the most extravagant Christmas offerings from across Hollywood.

MARIAH CAREY

She is often called the "queen of Christmas". And as Mariah Carey's classic song All I Want for Christmas Is You continues to dominate festive playlists, the singer has learnt many ways to keep her celebrations merry and bright.

"I've been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year," she said in an interview with an American website last week.

The pop star, who spends the holidays with her 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, loves adorning her trees with popcorn - and the notorious perfectionist isn't a fan of all things shiny.

"I'm not really a tinsel fan," she said. "But I don't want to take that away from other people because it's fun. You could throw it at people. It's fun for a moment."

The Emotions singer, 54, recently performed a series of concerts across the US entitled the Merry Christmas One and All! tour, during which she treated fans to her festive hits.

And she made sure that her $1.8m (£1.4m) tour bus was decorated for the occasion, along with her portfolio of properties, including her mansion in Beverly Hills and apartment in New York City.
