Celebrities turn heads at the Critics Choice Awards in Santa Monica as Demi Moore accompanied by her exquisitely accessorised chihuahua - triumphs again

With awards season in full swing, Hollywood stars donned their finest red-carpet attire for the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards, which finally took place last week following two postponements amid the recent wildfires that have devastated Los Angeles.

Celebrating critics' picks of the best in film and TV, the likes of Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman rubbed shoulders with fellow actresses Cynthia Erivo, Zoe Saldaña and Ariana Grande at the prestigious event, which was hosted by comedienne Chelsea Handler in the Barker Hangar venue at Santa Monica Airport.

Having already won a Golden Globe for her role in horror movie The Substance, Demi, 62, was the centre of attention in a Schiaparelli couture gown as she accepted her Best Actress prize.

"When I started the journey of this film, I could never imagine being here," she said when she took to the stage. "This is so far beyond anything that I could have hoped for." The mother of three added: "For anybody out there who is still on their journey, still struggling to find their way trying to get a script made or whatever it is that you do: just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it isn't happening. So stick with it and know that dreams do come true."
