Since entering India in 2003, Häfele has transformed from a hardware specialist into a comprehensive interior solutions provider.
At the helm of its South Asia operations is Frank Schloeder, a seasoned global leader who took charge in 2022 after a long tenure with BMW. In this conversation, Schloeder discusses Häfele's expansion strategy, the evolving Indian market, and how the brand is positioning itself for the future—both as a local powerhouse and a global innovation hub.
Tell us about your professional journey.
I began my career in the automotive sector with BMW, spending over 20 years in leadership roles across Germany, France, and India. This experience shaped my global outlook and emphasized innovation and customer-centricity. My transition to Häfele marked a new phase—leading a brand deeply connected to how people experience living and working spaces. Though moving from mobility to interiors may seem unusual, both industries are rooted in quality, design, and emotional value. At Häfele, I’m proud to lead a passionate team focused on innovation, growth, and customer satisfaction.
When did you join Häfele, and how has the experience been?
I took over as Managing Director of Häfele South Asia in November 2022. Since then, it has been a fulfilling journey. Häfele’s values of innovation and customer-centricity resonate strongly with my leadership style. With a capable team, we've focused on deepening customer engagement, expanding our retail footprint, and driving product innovation.
