HCL-Foxconn JV to set up semiconductor facility near Jewar Airport with focus on display driver chips.

India has approved a new semiconductor manufacturing facility, marking a significant step in strengthening the country's chip-making capabilities. The plant will be established near the upcoming Jewar Airport in Uttar Pradesh, with an investment of ₹3,706 crore.
This will be India's sixth semiconductor unit under the national chip mission. The facility is part of a joint venture between two leading technology firms and is focused on producing display driver chips—components widely used in smartphones, laptops, vehicles, and smart display systems.
