By partnering with Lil’ Drug Store Products, the top health and beauty care distributor serving this type of retailer, Cadence OTC was able to get emergency contraception pills carried in some 18,000 convenience marts in 49 states, including 7-Eleven, Circle K, and major gas station chains. Convenience stores serve as anchors for America’s healthcare deserts—areas that have limited access to pharmacies and where an estimated 20 million women of reproductive age live. “Those stores,” says Cadence OTC co-founder and CEO Samantha Miller, “are exactly where urgent-care products belong.”
