PRESIDENT ZELENSKYY may well be a reader of this column, given that he is assiduously following the observation in one of the earliest pieces (Dressing Up and Dressing Down', BW Businessworld 4 June 2022) that informal and minimalist clothing is becoming the style.

This drew opprobrium from his White House host, always dressed in a formal suit. The contrasting couture may well have sparked the subsequent scolding and rising tempers.

Clearly, Elon Musk attending meetings in WH in an informal tee-shirt, or his children present (with wife and nanny) at a formal meeting with India's PM and a high-level ministerial delegation, have done little for a kinder Trumpian vision of Zelenskyy's informality in dress code. It is noteworthy, though, that at a recent Cabinet meeting Elon Musk was attired in a suit.
