CA calls for sustainable HVO source material

The UK government is investigating the potential fraudulent use of virgin palm oil in the source material of renewable diesel Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), according to press reports.

A BBC article in early April suggested that virgin palm oil, which is linked to deforestation, may be entering the supply chain mislabelled as POME (palm oil mill effluent), a waste byproduct used as a feedstock (source material) for HVO.
