A 73-year-old British sailor was lost at sea after his yacht capsized in rough weather while sailing off the south-west coast of France.

The Préfecture maritime de l'Atlantique reported that the ETEL Regional Operational Centre for Surveillance and Rescue (CROSS) was first alerted on 24 January at 1930, by its British counterparts, that the American-flagged Tiger PA yacht was not responding to radio messages. The boat was located approximately 100 miles from Pointe de Graves.
