After a long run and some twists, did our family EV stick the landing?

Most of the time, my driving is made up of commuting (about 14 miles each way in shunting traffic) and acting as a taxi around the local area for my children, so an EV makes perfect sense - particularly as the threat of a new fuel crisis looms.

However, daughter two is a budding gymnast, which increasingly means tackling much longer journeys to attend training camps and competitions, for which a decent range is very helpful if I'm not to spend hours sitting at hugely expensive fast chargers, sipping coffee that costs more than a pint in a London pub. An exciting invitation to spend a day at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre near Telford - 179 miles as the crow flies from my south London home - looked like the perfect opportunity to give the E5 a proper test, and appeared to be well within the capabilities of its 267-mile official range.
