Dacia Jogger Hybrid 155

We get to grips with new, more powerful hybrid powertrain that joined range as part of model's mid-life facelift

THE Jogger became Dacia's first electrified model back in 2023 when it adopted parent firm Renault's Hybrid 140 powertrain, as used in the likes of the Clio and Captur. It suited Dacia's MPV pretty well, providing a more laid-back driving experience thanks to the introduction of an automatic transmission and improved efficiency courtesy of the hybrid technology. It hasn't taken long for the Jogger to reap the benefits of the Renault partnership again, however, because a new Hybrid 155 has arrived with the Jogger's midlife facelift to replace the Hybrid 140.

The 155 system is quite different from the outgoing setup, featuring a 1.8-litre petrol four-cylinder engine and two electric motors: a 49bhp unit than can power the front wheels and a supplementary motor to act as a starter/generator and to recoup energy from regenerative braking.

The battery is larger than the old Hybrid 140's, but still only 1.4kWh. As you might expect with such a small pack, there's no claimed electric range figure for the Jogger Hybrid 155, but Dacia says in urban areas it will run on electric power for up to 80 per cent of the time. The Hybrid retains the same 50-litre fuel tank as the TCe, so expect a very impressive maximum range of well over 600 miles.
