Q. The plant was Tenneco’s first in India, established in 1983. How has the plant evolved over four decades?

A. When we look at Hosur, we see more than just a manufacturing site-it represents the beginning of Tenneco’s journey in India. Established in 1983, the plant started with a focused mandate around shock absorber manufacturing. Over four decades, it has steadily evolved into a fully integrated facility for Advanced Ride Technologies.

This evolution has been both structural and technological. From basic assembly operations, we have built capabilities across welding, final assembly, and critical in-house processes like Dynachrome plating. Today, Hosur is not just about production scale; it is about precision, localisation, and the ability to support increasingly complex vehicle requirements. It reflects how we have aligned ourselves with the changing needs of the Indian automotive industry.

Q. What is the most technologically advanced product currently being made or developed at the Hosur plant?
