Auto Components India
|February 2026
As India accelerates its transition to electrified mobility, the auto components ecosystem is rapidly rearchitecting around high-power electronics, smarter battery systems and vehicle-level power integration
The calendar year 2025 and year-to-date FY26 have seen suppliers move from proofs-of-concept to production-ready systems, localising critical hardware and software, hardening thermal and safety architectures, and retooling factories for scale. Displays and technical sessions at industry showcases, such as the Bharat Mobility Global Expo - The Components Show and SIAT 2026, underscore how these shifts are becoming mainstream. Conversations revolved around ramping up, reliably and profitably.
The principal trends in electronics and power architecture that Indian component makers and ancillary suppliers are betting on, and how specific companies and announcements reflect these changes. A decade ago, battery suppliers sold cells and packs. Today, they sell a stack with a cell plus Battery Management System (BMS) coupled with telematics and second-life planning. Indian players are localising BMS development and adding cloud layers for fleet telemetry, remote on/ off and “battery Aadhaar” style lifecycle tracking. That stack reduces operational risk for fleet owners, eases asset leasing, and supports circular-economy use-cases (second life/recycling). Amara Raja’s public materials and investor communications emphasise this full-stack approach. Design of mechanical, electronics and cloud layers to control lifecycle and thermal profiles, and to offer multiyear warranties that reassure fleet customers. Integrating BMS with fleet software converts batteries from a consumable into a monitored asset that reduces TCO and helps financiers underwrite EV fleets.
