Architecture, at its most meaningful, goes beyond the act of building. It becomes a way of shaping everyday experiences, of crafting spaces that respond intuitively to human emotion, routine, and belief.
This philosophy lies at the heart of Tree of Life, a private residence in Ahmedabad designed by Disha Patel and Jaymin Patel of J and D Architects. Conceived as a sanctuary for contemporary living, the home weaves together nature, spirituality, and refined luxury into a cohesive architectural narrative.
Set on a generous rectangular plot in Shilaj, the residence unfolds with a sense of quiet confidence. The planning is rooted in Vastu principles, allowing energy, form, and function to align naturally.
Each space is carefully oriented to invite daylight, encourage cross ventilation, and foster a calm rhythm of living across all levels of the home. Rather than imposing itself on the site, the architecture responds gently to its surroundings, creating an environment that feels balanced, grounded, and deeply personal. DISHA & JAYMIN: Our studio embraces a design philosophy centered on openness, fluidity, and spatial drama. The planning process at J&D prioritizes seamless indoor-outdoor connections, enhancing light and air flow throughout. Similar to what the 'Tree of light' residence exhibits.
