In October 2016, Arcop Associates and Aedas won an open architectural competition for the redevelopment of Pragati Maidan, a flagship project aimed at redefining India's capital cityscape. The brief was clear: to create an iconic landmark that embodies the aspirations of a new India poised for global leadership.
The result is Bharat Mandapam, a modern, world-class integrated exhibition and convention center that seamlessly blends innovation, functionality, and cultural relevance. The design team, led by Arcop Associates and Aedas, envisioned a landmark building that would not only be an iconic symbol of India's growth but also deeply rooted in its rich cultural heritage. Bharat Mandapam is a testament to this vision, showcasing a distinctive aura that is both modern and timeless. The building's material palette, structure, and purpose have been carefully crafted to create a unique identity that reflects the nation's aspirations.
