This year Mount Isa champion Jo Caldwell is getting her kids in on the action

Champion barrel racer Jo Caldwell couldn’t be more excited to return to the Mount Isa rodeo arena. And this time she’s bringing her children, Austin, five, and Georgia, six.

Following in their parents’ footsteps – dad Tony, 39, is an Australian saddle bronc champion – the kids will be making their debut in the junior barrel race.

“They’re really excited,” Jo tells Woman’s Day from her property in Blandford, NSW, where the family business is horse breeding. “They’d watched me compete for so long it was a natural progression.”
