How does travel inspire your work?

Travelling, as everyone believes, leads to enriching lessons. These lessons come in the form of experiences and interactions one has with people on these sojourns. There is no denying the fact that travel plays a pivotal role in every actor’s life, because it opens a cultural window, allowing us to assimilate and imbibe the best practices. This is the reason why whenever I travel to a new city or country for my work, I make sure that I club together a few days with my shoot so that I get to see the new place and understand their way of life.

How has India contributed to your work?

I am a patriot at heart. I love everything about my country. India has taught me so much about life and culture that invariably my personal impressions seep into the characters I play. The diversity we have in our country is amazing and the socio-economic divide is interesting. Whenever I have got an opportunity to essay a complex role, my interactions with people from all walks of life have helped me in getting under the skin of the character.
