CLOUD—THE BAKER'S DOZEN FOR MYTEAM11
PCQuest
|February 2020
Experience, fraud control and real-time patterns can form an unexpected, but a big loaf of outcomes of getting on a Cloud. A fresh Cloud user tells us why Cloud is much more than a cheerleader when it comes to Fantasy Sports
Fantasy Sports may be a new and controversial industry but it is gaining a lot of ground–and fast. A user can choose players and make a team as per the rules of a platform and have a live-parallel experience while a real-time match is on. Imagine the kind of availability and uptime that one would need to ensure this platform delivers the fun and excitement users come in for (which is a primary motivator for 72 per cent users–as per KPMG). Interestingly, this data also shows that 85 per cent users play fantasy sports on mobile apps. Can a platform afford to have the lights out when a game as torrid, thumb-heavy and as nail-biting as this is on?
Cloud can be a fantasy-come-true for a Fantasy Sports major but even then—Cloud is not an elixir. And just because Sports is a 24/7 industry, does not mean that players have to be awake all night fighting fires.
Nitish Kumar Bugalia, Head, Product & Strategy, MyTeam11 Fantasy Sports Pvt. Ltd. gives us a lowdown on what works, what surprises and what follows with a Cloud investment.
What prompted the decision towards this company and then towards Cloud?
The company began in 2016. I worked in the financial services sector earlier and joined a few months back. But I have always been a cricket fan. I was a visiting consultant to this team for some time. When I thought of moving back to Jaipur, everything came together in a great way. I got an exciting and expanded role here. This is a big platform in India, perched as top as the second one in the fantasy sports category.
