For a long time, talk about the conduct of the IPL has been linked with the T-20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia in October – November. There have been clouds of uncertainty over the conduct of that tournament...
It is clear that given half an opportunity the BCCI will stage the IPL this year come what may. Ever since the inevitably of its postponement thanks to Covid-19 there has been constant talk of finding a window for the tournament. There has even been an offer from Sri Lanka to host the tournament since the coronavirus cases in the island nation are not very high. It was an offer that was never going to be taken seriously for the BCCI would prefer to have the IPL played in this country.
