Lachlan's Back In The Big League

Lachlan Morton on his return to the WorldTour after nearly quitting the sport.

Australian Dimension Data rider Lachlan Morton isn’t your average fresh face in the WorldTour peloton. Morton is making his second assault on the pro ranks, having quit cycling’s top tier in 2014, somewhat disillusioned, after two years with Garmin-Sharp.
He contemplated quitting cycling altogether before a ride through the Australian outback with his brother Angus ‘Gus’ Morton — himself a former Continental-level pro with Drapac — revitalised his enjoyment of riding his bike. The film Thereabouts captured the pair’s journey on the trip.
Early in his career his stage racing potential was lauded and last year, racing for the US Jelly Belly squad, he racked up GC victories at the Tour of Utah and Tour of Gila.
Cycling Weekly caught up with him at his first training camp with the team to ask him why this season will be different from his last foray into the WorldTour.
Why did you leave the WorldTour in the first place?
