Deignan Fine-Tunes Worlds Form In The Netherlands

Strong ride at Dutch stage race bodes well for rainbow jersey bid.

Lizzie Deignan warmed up for the World Championships with an aggressive performance at the Boels Ladies Tour last week. Finishing seventh overall, the Trek-Segafredo rider was on the attack in the finales of the opening three road stages in the Dutch race, with third place on stage three her best finish.

“I came here to get some leg speed and to get some racing rhythm again, and I think I’ve got that so I’m happy,” Deignan told CW.

“The races haven’t been that aggressive, but sometimes you have you make your own race, and we’ve tried to do that.”
