The deck of cards is shuffled and one card for each player is put in the display. Each card has a value, one of nine icons, and belongs to one of the three categories of tales in the game. Each player is secretly dealt a moral card. This will tell you which icon will earn you bonus points at the end. Everyone takes fifteen chips.
