Falling in Love with Nature
Lens Magazine
|February 2022
My love of photography started 30 years ago.
My quest as a landscape and nature photographer is to showcase wild, beautiful & unique natural locations and use my creative vision to capture those landscapes in high-quality images that inspire awe in the viewer, respect for the natural world, and ultimately a greater appreciation of wilderness and wilderness preservation. - Joseph Rossbach

I was a junior in High School, and I needed art credits, but I couldn't draw or paint to save my life, so I enrolled in Photography 101: Black & White Film and The Darkroom. I thought this would be an easy way to earn my credits, but little did I know that I would fall in love with photography, and it would turn into a lifelong journey. Through the remainder of High School and afterward, I studied photography voraciously. I read as many books and every article I could get my hands on. Two years after graduating high school, I embarked on a month-long road trip from my home in the Eastern United States to the western deserts of Utah & Arizona. I decided I wanted to be a landscape photographer throughout this trip and fell in love with the western landscape.
