BIOCON chairperson and managing director Kiran Mazumdar Shaw on Mon-day hit back at FinanceMinister Nirmala Sitharaman saying India Inc is neither anti-national nor anti-government.

Kiran Stands Her Ground In Face-Off With Nirmala

Shaw was responding to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman’s remarks on leading industrialist Rahul Bajaj’s observation that India Inc was afraid of criticising the Narendra Modi government.

Commenting on the statement, Sitharman had said, “spreading one’s own impression can hurt national interest.’’

Shaw tweeted: “Madam, we are neither anti-national nor anti-government. We want you to succeed big time as the fastest growing economy and rise to the top of the global league of economies. I am a proud apolitical national and only want the government to promote good policies including at state level.”

Bajaj had set the cat among the pigeons when at a media event in Mumbai on Saturday he told Sitharaman, Home Minister Amit Shah and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, seated on the dais, that people were afraid of criticising the BJP government's policies. No one in the business community would speak about this issue, he had added.
