JANSSEN WITH JOY AS YOUNG AVAIL OF JAB...

THE COVID-19 vaccine rollout saw a major boost when it was announced that over 750 pharmacies would be able to administer the one-jab Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine to the 18 to 34-year-old cohort beginning from yesterday.

JANSSEN WITH JOY AS YOUNG AVAIL OF JAB...

It’s believed that more than 200,000 Janssen vaccines will be distributed over the coming weeks and there has been excitement from those aged in their 20s who are now eligible for their vaccine.

Previously, the younger cohort were told they could have been waiting until late August or early September to get their jabs — but there is a sense of relief among those who have been able to get their vaccine appointments.

Eimear Duffy (25), who is working for a Dublin-based construction company but is living and working from home in her mam’s house in Killarney, Co Kerry, is ‘thrilled’ to have got the vaccine.

She managed to get an appointment from her local pharmacy on Friday morning, right after the announcement by the Government was made.
